Sweet Bonanza: a guided tour of the candy screen
Sweet Bonanza is a Pragmatic Play slot where fruit and candy drop into one big grid instead of classic reels. The first time you open it, the colours make it hard to tell which button does what. So on this page we walk through the screen from top to bottom, one part at a time, as if someone were sitting next to you pointing at each piece. Play happens only in the official lobby. What does the Sweet Bonanza screen show, from top to bottom?
The game opens with the phone held sideways or upright, but the order of the parts stays roughly the same. This list runs from top to bottom:
- Background and logo at the very top: the game name between pink and blue clouds and candy pillars. Nothing to tap here; it's decoration.
- The big grid in the middle: six columns and five rows. This is where fruit such as grapes, bananas, watermelons, plums and apples land, along with heart-shaped candies and other sweets. What each symbol is worth is shown with pictures in the paytable.
- Buttons beside the grid: often a "Buy Feature" button and an Ante Bet switch on the left. Some lobbies or countries don't show Buy Feature at all. If you don't see it, that's fine.
- The win line just below the grid: when a spin wins, the amount for that spin appears here.
- The control bar at the very bottom: the menu (three lines) on the left, then your credit or balance and your current bet. In the middle is the big round spin button, with minus and plus on either side to lower or raise the bet. Autoplay and quick-spin buttons sit nearby.
On day one, don't tap anything. Just find these five parts with your eyes. Then open the menu and read the "Paytable" or "Info" pages once. They list each symbol's value, the feature rules and the game's RTP. Read the percentage there; this page doesn't guess any number.
When you read the paytable, notice three things. First, each symbol shows how much it pays for a given number of matches, and that amount usually changes with your current bet, so check the paytable again whenever you change the bet. Second, fruit and candy symbols have different values; learn from the pictures which ones are worth more. Third, the feature pages explain free spins, bombs and Ante Bet separately. Reading them once makes it much easier to follow what happens on screen later.
How do you play Sweet Bonanza? One spin, step by step
- Type "Sweet Bonanza" into the lobby search, or choose the Pragmatic Play provider under the slots tab. If it isn't there, whatever the lobby has is final. Don't open it from any other link.
- When the game loads, check the balance at the bottom first, so you can see later how much you spent.
- Press minus to bring the bet down to the lowest value.
- Press the spin button in the middle once. Every symbol drops in from above and the grid rearranges.
- On a win, the matching symbols sparkle and disappear, and new ones fall from above. Wait until everything stops, then compare the win line and your balance.
It's best to leave autoplay off on day one. Pressing each spin yourself shows how quickly your balance changes.
What do "tumble" and "matches anywhere" mean?
In a regular slot you need matches along lines from left to right. Sweet Bonanza has no such paylines. A win counts when enough of the same symbol lands anywhere on the grid: at least eight in the original version. The symbols don't need to touch.
What happens after a win is called a tumble. The winning symbols are cleared from the grid, the symbols above drop down, and new symbols fill the gaps. If that makes a new match, it tumbles again. So one spin can show several wins in a row, and it's also completely normal for a spin not to win at all. You don't press anything during a tumble; just watch.
When do free spins come, and what do the multiplier bombs do?
There is a big colourful lollipop symbol on the grid. That's the scatter. When enough lollipops land in one spin (four or more in the original version), the free spins round starts. The screen colours and music change, and the number of free spins left shows at the top or side. More lollipops during free spins can add extra spins. How many spins you get is written in the help of the version you open.
During free spins, rainbow bombs with a multiplier printed on them can land on the grid. When the whole tumble sequence ends, the values of all bombs on screen are added together and applied to that sequence's win, but only if the sequence actually won something. If there's no win, a bomb landing changes nothing. Check the help for how high bomb values can go.

Should you press Ante Bet or Buy Feature?
Turning on Ante Bet makes each spin cost a bit more; in return, the game says scatters become more likely. After switching it on, check whether the bet amount at the bottom has changed. Many players keep playing at a higher cost without realising it.
Buy Feature lets you buy the free spins round directly, but it costs many times more than a normal spin. Read the price shown on screen before buying. A bought round has no guaranteed win either. For beginners, the simple path on day one is to leave both buttons off.
How do you start with a small balance?
- Before playing, set today's money and time limit, and write it down somewhere.
- Keep the bet at the lowest level, with Ante Bet and autoplay off.
- Check the balance at the bottom every few spins. When you hit your limit, stop. Don't raise the bet to win back a loss.
- Don't get excited by a big number on the win line. The real count is your balance at the bottom.
